Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, Phase I

The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project is a 23-mile, 11 station extension of the existing Metrorail system, extending service from the existing Orange Line. The project is being built in 2 phases, the 11.7-mile Phase 1, scheduled for completion in 2013, will extend service from East Falls Church through five new stations. The 11.5 mile Phase 2, will include construction of six additional stations. When both phases are complete, the new line will provide a oneseat (no transfer) ride from Washington D.C. to Tysons Corner, Reston, Dulles Airport and beyond.

NXL is providing the Lead Field Construction Structures Specialist. This individual represents the owner (MWAA) for all aerial work including footings, columns, Pier Caps and segmental bridge precast and erection. Daily oversight inspections include the production, transportation and erection of precast segments, all post-tensioning field work including installation, stressing and grouting, substructure installation and utility relocations. Other responsibilities include: Shop drawing reviews, IRR reviews, Deficiency Report reviews, specification reviews, change order reviews, accelerated work documentation, weekly production reports for segment production and erection. NXL is also providing the Construction administrator for MWAA, who reports to both Jacobs and MWAA. Work includes special projects, cost analysis, documentation and research.
